On March 30th, 2021 Nica-Biz reported on the “Central American Coffee Cupping in Taiwan 2021″ featuring Nicaraguan Coffee Oro as well as coffee from Honduras and Guatemala.

The event was held on May 6th and 7th in the city of Taipei with more than 34 Taiwanese importers (a dozen of who were already hooked on Nicaragua coffee) sending their very best “Cuppers” to taste about 80 different coffees from Central America.

Nicaragua sent 26 samples of its best high-altitude coffee from Madriz, Nueva Segovia, Jinotega, Matagalpa, Estelí and Boaco. The samples made it to Taiwan with the help of the National Commission for the Transformation and Development of Coffee (CONATRADEC ) and the cooperation of the Embassy of Taiwan in Managua who have a long standing diplomatic relationship with Nicaragua.

Taiwan promotes these types of events as a service to their businesses and beyond that as an opportunity to improve the lives of the families of the coffee producing families in the countries that exhibited.
