It might seem a long way off but we are excited at the thought of once again seeing one of these beautiful Star Clippers sailing ships back in the Pacific Ocean off the south west coast of Nicaragua.
Star Clippers will be making sixteen sailings for the 2022/2023 cruise ship season starting on the 3rd of December 2022. All of the cruises will be seven nights in duration on the 166-passenger Star Clipper and you can choose between Costa Rica and Panama or Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
Always a star attraction, the Star Clippers sailing ships provide the perfect backdrop for those ocean snapshots. The Christmas Cruise (27th of December 2022) is one of the seven times that the Star Clipper will stop in San Juan del Sur.
This is how they describe San Juan del Sur for those wishing to come ashore when it anchors in the Bahía de San Juan del Sur;
“San Juan del Sur is Nicaragua’s beach party destination. Its own beach is pretty enough but venture just north or south and you will discover world class surfing beaches that host many international surfing competitions. In addition you can explore peaceful fishing villages and discover sea-turtle nesting grounds. The Mirador del Cristo de la Misericordia sits on one of the highest points on the bay and is one of the tallest Jesus statues in the world.”
This is the second time that the Star Clippers cruise line with its fleet of the Royal Clipper, Star Clipper and the Star Flyer has offered cruises in this area. The easterly winds and stable weather during the time period of the cruises combine to create perfect sailing conditions for the Star Clipper which will move under sail whenever possible.
