Nicaragua has been nominated in several categories at this year’s World Travel Awards (WTA) and will be competing in the Mexico and Central America region in five categories. Check below how you can vote for Nicaragua.
The Categories are;
Adventure Tourism Destination
City Destination (Granada)
Island Destination (Little Corn Island)
Tourism Board (Nicaraguan Tourism Institute – INTUR)
Green Hotel (Morgan’s Rock, San Juan del Sur, Rivas)
Country Competition
As well as the Mexico and Central America region competition, Nicaraguan businesses are also competing against each other in five categories in the “County Competition” for the best;
Car Rental Company
Hotel
Destination Management Company
Tour Operator
Travel Agency

Voting
Voting is open to travel industry professionals, the media and tourism consumers worldwide who are invited to cast their votes in the competition. On line voting is open until Friday the 29th of July 2022. The Gala Ceremony for the WTA Caribbean & The Americas will take place at the Sandals resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica on the 31st of August 2022.

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards™ was intended to reward excellence in the tourism industry in a variety of categories. It now has global recognition as the “ultimate hallmark of industry excellence”.
WTA hosts a number of gala ceremonies around the world which ae attended by the industries regional players, decision-makers, influencers and media. The WTA sponsors and the competition winners receive global recognition on social media across a number of platforms.
Note: Despite the recent challenges in the travel and tourism industry the 2021 edition of the WTA recorded a record breaking 2.3 million votes cast, more than in any other year of the 29 year history of the competition.
