INTUR The Instituto Nicaragüense de Turismo (Nicaraguan Tourism Institute) has published a list of recent positive international media articles about travelling to Nicaragua. There are some useful links to add to your business web sites!

INTUR was obviously pleased by the award of Safe Travels Seal of Approval from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in relation to Covid-19 Biosafety Protocols for tourists. As well as INTUR, these protocols included input from the health department, labor, the social security training department, trade and industry and the Nicaraguan Civil Aeronautics Institute (INAC).

Safe Travels (adopted by 200 destinations worldwide) is designed to help restore the confidence of tourists and the tourism sector travelling to Nicaragua in the face of the pandemic.

Forbes Magazine had Nicaragua on a list of 8 countries with no travel restrictions once you land and show your negative PCR test. With major tourist countries having restrictions in place yet experiencing high rates of Covid – 19, Forbes reported that visitors to Nicaragua gave positive reviews on their Covid travel experience.

Nik Wallenda made the top ten list of Sarasota, Florida residents making the news with his ABC TV sponsored 1,800 feet tightrope walk over Nicaragua’s Masaya volcano.

Costa Rican residents are free to come and go across the border with Nicaragua and were courted by INTUR’s Department of International Promotion through the various tour operators. Their services are still a popular method to book a vacation or trip for many Central Americans.

In the same way, and as reported by Nica-Biz last month, INTUR has turned to promoting the country’s venues and attractions to the national market. The institute sees this as a way of helping create a solid foundation for the recovery and future development of the tourism sector.

Last month, The Costa Rica News published an article on “How to Travel between Costa Rica and Nicaragua in the Face of COVID Restrictions” containing some good detail on the process.

The beaches of Nicaragua from the Pacific to the Caribbean were featured in an article by Infobae, a large news Spanish language website out of Argentina. Getting a mention, and with some nice photos as well were; San Juan del Sur and neighboring beaches such as Playa El Remanso, Playa Hermosa and Playa El Yankee.

Going north they pick Playa Maderas and even further north, Playa Jiquiliste (Santana), Colorado and Popoyo. Masachapa y Pochomil also get a mention for the Pacific.

The Corn Islands, representing the Atlantic finish off the honorable mentions for web site averaging 4.6M visitors daily reading 13.3M pages!
